The Biyela Royal Heritage Project records historical documents and oral traditions for a dedicated visitors’ centre in Obuka.

What we’re doing

We involve young people in digital archiving and family-history research, capturing knowledge held by older generations before it is lost.

Why it matters

Turning memory into a written and digital record creates real economic opportunities in cultural tourism and the heritage sector. Heritage becomes something a community can build on, as well as something it remembers.
